Amanda Horrell is an avid CrossFitter and fitness enthusiast. Having joined Olive Branch CrossFit in June 2014, she found herself immersed in a supportive community of people who encouraged her to work harder and stronger, day after day. Amanda became passionate about her love for fitness as well as her desire to help people achieve their fitness goals.
Unable to quench her thirst for accomplishment, Amanda began competing in ultra distance marathon events as well as various obstacle course races. With each event she signed up for and completed, a new level of self-confidence was achieved and with this came a desire to share this feeling with others in the community.
In the past 4 years, Amanda has participated in a handful of obstacle course races, completed races of all distances including a handful of road marathons, numerous trail 50k’s, and multiple 50-mile races.
Albeit, distance runners are generally not known for their strength, Amanda is not your typical distance runner. She is willing to sacrifice many things in order to accomplish her running goals but a barbell is not one of them. Amanda believes in the importance of strength and her love for the barbell is well-documented. She finds satisfaction in few things as much as the feeling of exhilaration that comes with picking up and slamming down heavy amounts of weight.
In June of 2017, Amanda received her L1 Certification through CrossFit Inc and has been coaching athletes to reach their fitness goals ever since. She believes in passing on the knowledge that has been given to her and wants others to feel the liberation and excitement that comes with being part of the CrossFit community.
Through CrossFit and distance running, Amanda has seen first-hand what can be accomplished if an athlete is willing to believe in themselves and has the fortitude to keep moving forward. Amanda knows the importance of community and the role that support can play between an athlete, a coach, and the peers which surround them.
