Happy New Year!
What are your goals for the new year? We’ve seen so many awesome PR’s (Personal Records) in the few short months that we’ve been open. We’ve seen everything from people running their very first mile to setting big back squat PR’s. The awesome thing is that we have so many people in the gym with so many goals that will be completed in 2014. For me, I just wanted to recover from my broken foot and get back to the Ouachita 50 miler in April. Others have bigger goals. Their very first pull up, sub 5 hour marathons, first muscle ups, etc. Whatever your goals are for the new year, we can get you there. Big or small. Some need to lose lots (or even a little) weight, some want to do double unders, and some just want to get better at life in general. This is our area of expertise. Helping you reach your goals, and helping you enjoy your life more than you ever have before. When you surround yourself with an entire community of people that want you to succeed, you’re setting yourself up to succeed.
There are a lot of deals out there at different gyms during this time of year. Cheap ones. I think you can probably find a gym membership for $20.00. Go buy it. I guarantee you that when you walk into that gym there won’t be anyone walking up to you asking how you’re feeling, what your goals are, what questions you have, whether they can give you extra homework to make you a better athlete and a better person. There won’t be a chalk board with your workout for the day written on it. There won’t be some silly coach there that knows how much your back squat is, that you wrecked your shoulder trying to do a handstand for your husband, that you really need to quit smoking, or that you need a little extra support because you had a really crappy day yesterday. This is our area of expertise. Helping you reach your goals, and helping you enjoy your life more than you ever have before. We do it in a very fun way in a VERY fun atmosphere.
Even though it has only been a few months, this has been a great year for us. It was just a few months ago we were in an empty building raising the rogue rig up onto the wall with all of our founding members and other volunteers:
Our community is growing, and we’re seeing lives change in a way that you can only see them change in a CrossFit gym. We celebrate victories from running a first 5k to ultra marathons, leaning around a tree in a better position to shoot a deer, doing a handstand, and even picking children up and carrying them more easily. It’s such a cliche thing in the CrossFit world by now, but we really do help people to “not suck at life.” So whatever your resolutions are this year, just know that if they have anything to do with losing weight, running, lifting, jumping, pulling, pushing, standing, looking good naked, eating better, and just becoming an all around better person…we are here for you. Come see us. It will be the best decision you’ve ever made. I promise.
Happy New Year, and see you in the gym!
